Production method of power frequency cored induction melting furnace

Induction melting furnaces are divided into two types: cored (ie slot type) and coreless (ie crucible type). Although the coreless induction furnace appeared later than the cored furnace, because of its (1) simple furnace structure, (2) convenient furnace construction, (3) the melt can be poured into light, (4) it is easy to change the charge and alloy grades, (5) The advantages of being suitable for intermittent production have always been paid attention to and developed rapidly. For core furnaces, because (1) the melt temperature in the melting ditch is higher than that of the molten pool, the refractory material cannot meet the requirements of the melting ditch. (2) Due to the large temperature difference between the molten ditch and the molten pool, the input power is limited and the melting rate is low. (3) The melt can not be poured, and it is not suitable for intermittent production. And change the melt grade must wash the furnace. Based on the above reasons and people's lack of understanding of its superior performance, it was only used to smelt non-ferrous metals such as copper, aluminum and zinc for a long period of time. Even so, its superior performance has always been concerned by the industry. The main advantages are as follows (1) The electrical efficiency is generally 0.95 to 0.98, which is 25% higher than that of high and medium frequency coreless furnaces, and 15% higher than that of power frequency coreless furnaces.
(2) The thermal efficiency is high, about 0.8 to 0.9.
(3) The power factor for smelting ferrous metals can reach 0.6 to 0.8, and the coreless furnace is 0.05 to 0.25.
(4) The unit power consumption is low. For example, the unit power consumption of cast iron cold smelting (1450 ℃) is 400-500kw·H/T, and the power frequency coreless furnace is 500-700kw·H/T.
(5) Less investment, for example, the investment of 12T coreless furnace is only 1/3 of that of 10T power frequency coreless furnace, which is similar to 1.5T power frequency coreless furnace. Generally, it is 1/2 to 1/3 of the coreless furnace of the same capacity.
(6) The shape and capacity of the furnace body can be freely selected.
(7) The change of the depth of the melt level will not cause the fluctuation of the input power.
In recent years, although the research on the temperature difference of refractories, melting trenches and molten pools has progressed, the cored furnace has been extended from non-ferrous metal smelting to cast iron smelting and heat preservation, but the temperature difference between the melting trenches and molten pools is still as high as 100 -200 ℃, the structure of the furnace body is not completely reasonable, so that the heat preservation is poor and the furnace age is short, which cannot be applied to the smelting of cast steel.
